Dear members of the Valley View 3rd Ward Relief Society,
This Sunday our lesson will be on Elder Bednar's talk "In the Path of Their Duty." You can find the full talk here: Link to the talk.
A Unique Sunday Ahead
This Sunday, which also happens to be the Primary program, holds a unique opportunity for us to reflect on our roles as members of this wonderful ward and the larger Church community. Chelsy has asked us to ponder a specific except from Elder
Bednar's talk:
The phrase “in the path of their duty” describes the thousands and thousands of nursery leaders and Primary teachers who love and instruct the children of the Church each Sabbath day.
Consider the eternal impact of the service rendered by these devoted disciples—and the marvelous blessings promised to those who minister to children.
Nurturing Our Youngest Members
This quote beautifully captures the essence of the dedicated individuals who serve in the nursery and Primary, tirelessly nurturing and teaching our youngest members, helping them build a strong foundation of faith, love, and understanding.
But it's not just about what they do; it's about the profound impact of their service. Elder Bednar's words remind us to consider the eternal significance of ministering to these children. When we receive and support these little ones in the name of Jesus Christ, we are, in essence, receiving Him and following in His path of love and compassion.
Following the Savior's Example: Receiving Him Through Children
The Savior Himself set the example when He said:
"Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me."
This Sunday's lesson provides a unique opportunity for us to explore the depths of this message, to appreciate the loving service of those who work with our children, and to reflect on how we can support them. By discussing Elder Bednar's message, we can gain a greater understanding of the blessings that come from ministering to children and how it connects us to our Savior.
A Special Thank You
Before we conclude this message, we want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible Primary, Nursery and Sunday School teachers. While we won't have the chance to meet with you during the second hour, we want you to know that your efforts are recognized and deeply appreciated.
Your dedication to teaching and nurturing our children is a testament to your love for the gospel and your commitment to our ward family. Even for those of us who may not have children in the Primary, we understand the profound impact you have on this rising generation, and we are immensely grateful for your service.
As we look forward to the upcoming Primary program, we want to express our thanks in advance for the wonderful presentation we know you have been diligently preparing. Your efforts contribute to the spiritual growth and development of our young ones, and for that, we are truly blessed.
Please know that your service does not go unnoticed, and we carry our appreciation with us as we gather for our Relief Society meeting. Thank you for all that you do to enrich the lives of our children and strengthen our ward community.
With Love,
VV3RS
